The Full Dude Ranch Experience is the heart of Sprucedale Ranch and a true reflection of life on an authentic Arizona guest ranch. Offered from June through August, these all-inclusive weeks are designed to immerse guests in the heritage, horsemanship, and daily rhythms that have shaped this working ranch for generations. From the moment you arrive, you are welcomed into a place where traditions are lived, not staged, and where time slows enough to let you fully settle into the experience.
Your six-night stay includes a private cabin and all meals, shared family style in the main lodge. Meals are made from scratch and served hot, bringing everyone together around the table just as ranch families have done for decades. Days are filled with riding, hands-on ranch activities, and moments that connect guests to the land, the animals, and the people who care for them. Children and adults alike have the chance to help imprint colts, pet newborn kittens, and even milk a cow, experiences that are simple, memorable, and deeply rooted in ranch life. Evenings bring relaxed gatherings, storytelling, and activities that carry on long after the sun dips behind the mountains.
Beyond the saddle, guests enjoy access to a playground, basketball and volleyball courts, a horseshoe pit, and a collection of outdoor games that encourage connection across generations. Every element of the Full Ranch Experience is meant to feel natural, welcoming, and genuine, offering a meaningful way to experience the American West without distractions.

Full Ranch Experience FAQ
How do I get the full Sprucedale Ranch experience
A six-day stay is the traditional way to experience everything Sprucedale Ranch offers during the peak summer season. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included each day and served family style in the main lodge, creating a shared experience that quickly feels like home. Meals feature fresh salads, homemade breads, and desserts, all prepared from scratch. Guests with medical allergies, vegetarian needs, or gluten preferences should contact the ranch at least one month prior to arrival so arrangements can be made.
How often will we ride horses during our six-day stay
Most days include a morning horseback ride for all riders. Advanced riders are offered additional afternoon rides. One highlight of the week is the all-day Thursday ride to the Black River, where guests enjoy a packed lunch and time to swim (weather dependent) before riding back to the ranch. Advanced rides may move at a faster pace and can include loping or cantering. Riders age 13 and older may qualify for advanced rides. All riders must be at least six years old. Riding schedules may change due to weather or availability. Horseback rides and advanced rides are an additional charge and not included in the base stay.
Are there afternoon or evening activities
Afternoons and evenings at Sprucedale Ranch reflect the relaxed, communal nature of ranch life. Guests may take part in cow milking, colt leading, fishing, cornhole, basketball, volleyball, hayrides, western line dancing, and bonfires. A mix of indoor and outdoor games is always available, encouraging connection, laughter, and unplanned moments that often become favorite memories. Activities may vary based on weather and availability, but the focus remains the same: sharing time together and experiencing an authentic Arizona dude ranch in a way that feels genuine and lasting.
